Scalpay Lighthouse
The Scalpay Lighthouse is located on the Isle of Scalpay, which is a small island off the east coast of the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The lighthouse was built in 1788 and is one of the oldest lighthouses in Scotland. It is located on the northern tip of the island, and the light it emits can be seen for over 20 nautical miles.
In addition to the lighthouse, the Isle of Scalpay is a beautiful destination in its own right, with stunning coastal scenery and opportunities for hiking, wildlife watching, and fishing. There are several walking trails on the island that offer panoramic views of the surrounding sea and islands, and the island is home to a variety of bird species, including puffins and Sea Eagles. The village of Scalpay is also worth exploring, with its traditional cottages and scenic harbour.
