Where it is and how to get there
Uig is roughly 35 miles west of Stornoway, and the last stretch is single track road. Allow considerably more time than the distance suggests, particularly if you meet a lorry or a flock of sheep. The same road takes you to Ardroil Beach, where the Lewis Chessmen were found, and on to Mangersta.
